F. Gary Stiles Receives the Eisenmann Medal. March 11, 2003.F. Gary Stiles received the Eisenmann Medal at 125th annual meeting of the Linnaean Society of New York at the Liederkranz Club, New York City, on March 11, 2003. The Medal is named in honor of the brilliant lawyer-ornithologist Eugene Eisenmann, a past President of the Society, who Gary credited with encouraging his career in tropical ornithology. Gary presented a superb lecture summarizing recent developments in his and others' research on hummingbird biology.
